Silent Night has long been a staple song of the season. Penned by Austrian priest Joseph Mohr; the words of this timeless classic capture a sense of awe and wonder at the true meaning of Christmas. Eluvia decided to record and release their unique arrangement and instrumentation of this beautiful song. This single is Eluvia’s first studio release. The band typically performs original songs that they have written themselves. However, they are honored to start their recording catalog with such a rich and time tested song.
Eluvia’s unique instrumentation draws from their western folk-rock roots, but also includes other influences like the Irish penny whistle, the Nigerian Udu (a clay pot drum), and the Chinese Gu Zheng (a plucked instrument). The band has a deep appreciation and love of all forms of music drawn from around the globe.
